    VP finance and administration retirement

    Dawn Russell, St. Thomas University president, announced on Nov. 26 that Lily Fraser, STU’s vice-president finance and administration, will be retiring effective Nov. 30.

    New courses

    Dawne Clarke, chair of the St. Thomas University curriculum committee, moved a motion to approve ENGL 3243: Race and Media. The motion was approved.

    Clarke moved a motion to approve ENVS 2413: Social Dimensions of Climate Change. The motion was approved with one vote against the motion.

    Clarke moved a motion to approve ENVS 3413: Political Economy Dimensions of Climate Change. The motion was approved.

    Clarke moved a motion to approve GERO 4113: Health Promotion for Aging Populations. The motion was approved.

    Clarke moved two motions to approve HMRT 3153: Popular Culture and Human Rights and HMRT 3233: Environment and Human Rights. Both were approved by Senate.

    Senate nominating committee

    Kim Fenwick, chair of the St. Thomas University Senate nominating committee, moved a motion to appoint Janet Durkee Lloyd to the Senate curriculum committee effective immediately, expiring on June 30, 2022. The motion was approved.

    Fenwick moved a second motion to appoint Andrew Moore and Durkee Lloyd to the special merit awards committee. The motion was approved.
