Down to two: Michael Manning withdraws from race for STUSU President

The AQ has learned that Michael Manning is no longer in the running for STUSU presidential candidate. During a previously scheduled speech this afternoon in JDH, Manning announced that he would be withdrawing his name from the ballot.

“I have tried to run a campaign while away,” said Manning who was away for a Model UN conference in Boston.

Manning said he was dropping out of the race because he hasn’t been able to campaign effectively while being out of town. He was away for almost all of the campaign period.

“I could not ask my fellow students to vote on a candidate they do not have the time to get to know,” Manning said.

Manning says he is supporting presidential candidate Mark Livingstone and encouraged his supporters to do the same.

“The candidates running in this election have unique platforms I encourage you to look at them closely,” he said.

Ella Henry and Mark Livingstone are the two remaining candidates.
