In memoriam- On October 2nd, 2009 Blue “Lappy” Toshiba-Laptop passed on, peacefully, in our home. No amount of ctrl+alt+delete could revive him. Lappy was a dear friend of mine. He contained all of my homework, my music and my photos, which he brought with him to the computer afterlife. He wasn’t the fastest laptop, or the fanciest or the most powerful, but he brought me endless hours of joy as he helped me write paper after paper, search site after site, and was faithful and true right until the bright blue screen of death took him away from me.
Now Lappy is on to a better place- where batteries never drain, where there are no busy servers and where there is always free wi-fi. He is free of the Cheetos stained fingers stroking his keys and the wrath of misdirected anger when youtube videos wouldn’t load fast enough.
Lappy is survived by his wireless card and his motherboard, who may go on to be part of a Franken-Lappy in his memory.
Lappy, your death seems so unfair, and you left me far too soon, but know that you will always have a place in my heart.
