On Oct. 5 the Demonic Brilliance Film Festival (DBFF) had its last screening at the Theatre New Brunswick’s Open Space Theatre. This festival is open to all horror enthusiasts who are eager to start off the month of October with jumpscares and Halloween candy.

Jared Carney, DBFF’s director, started this initiative online during the pandemic. His initial purpose was to bring together Fredericton’s film community and shine a light on the beauty of horror films. The event operates on an admission-by-donation basis and all proceeds will go to the Imprint Youth Association, an organization established to support 2SLGBTQIA+ youth and the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.
