The campus network will go down starting 9 P.M. on Tuesday.
In an email sent on Monday Dan Hurley, Director of IT Services, wrote that work is being done to the network which should be finished within an hour, but could take up to three.
The outage should not impact residence internet.
Wireless internet service, printing, webadvisor, Moodle, and network drives will be unavailable on campus.
It is not expected to impact off campus service to the library website.

Message to Students – Update Network Outage Tuesday
(If you don’t expect to be on campus after 9:00 Tuesday April 12, you can stop reading now)
We have updated our plans for our Tuesday night network outage. We will be doing some network work starting at 9:00 on Tuesday. We are hopeful that this will take less than one hour, but we are reserving a three hour block for contingency.
We will be closing the labs tomorrow one hour earlier than usual, but we will be opening one hour earlier on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Lab Schedule:
Monday: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm (normal hours)
Tuesday: 7:00 am – 9:00 pm (open one hour early and close one hour early)
Wednesday: 7:00 am – 10:00 pm (open one hour early)
Thursday: 8:00 am – 10:00 pm (normal hours)
On campus users (NOT including Residence) will lose access to pretty much everything at 9:00 pm. People who are logged into a computer and working locally will be unaffected, but printing will not work if you are printing to a network printer. The Internet, email, webadvisor, HIL resources, Moodle, Network drives will be all unavailable.
Off campus users and Residence users – we do not expect any interruption. All normal services will be available.
HIL Resources. Users at home or at the HIL should have full access to all normal resources (eResource, Wireless, printing etc.)
Thanks and sorry about any inconvenience.
