Changes to by-laws for Indigenous representative approved
The St. Thomas University Students’ Union approved the proposed changes to their election by-laws for the Indigenous representative position, that were presented at the SRC meeting on Sept. 12.
Moving forward, the Indigenous student community shall appoint a representative, instead of one being elected.
Kyanna Kingbird, one of the Indigenous students who helped STUSU create these changes, attended the meeting.
“I feel like you took care of it really well. I really commend you for making the efforts to make it a more uncolonized process for the election, and thank you for that. I am very pleased that it went though,” she said.
