Winter Formal 

The annual Winter Formal will take place on Dec. 6 at 8 p.m. at the Fredericton Convention Centre. For STU students, advanced tickets are $10 and $15 at the door. For the general public, advanced tickets are $15 and $20 at the door. Advanced tickets are available at the Help Desk in James Dunn Hall.

STUSU rep elected to steering committee

Hannah Moore, one of the STUSU at-large representatives, attended the New Brunswick Environmental Network Conference, and was elected to their steering committee as a student sustainability representative.

At the conference, Moore renewed the membership of STU Sustainability as a member of the New Brunswick Environmental Network, which allows the club’s contact information to appear on the network’s website.

Merchants of Doubt

There will be a film screening of Merchants of Doubt, a 2014 documentary about the spread of misinformation in the United States. It will take place on Nov. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ted Daigle Auditorium. There will be a panel discussion after the screening.

Sustainability Holiday Workshop 

STU Sustainability is hosting a Sustainability Holiday Workshop on Friday, Nov. 30 at 1:30 p.m. in the Wabanaki Centre in JDH.

Students are invited to make soy wax wraps and soy wax candles. The organizers will also provide recyclable wrapping options.

“You can make the gifts yourself and then take everything you make and give [them] as presents or for yourself if you want to,” said Hannah Moore, one of STUSU’s at-large representatives.

Participants are asked to donate $5 at the door.
