STU/UNB trail

St. Thomas University Students’ Union President Husoni Raymond said he met with UNB Facilities ab out the trail that connects St. Thomas University and the University of New Brunswick to fix the lights and give it a name. He said UNB Facilities will be looking into fixing the lights.

Divestment campaign

St. Thomas University Students’ Union President Husoni Raymond said the STUSU will continue to support the divestment campaign. Hannah Moore, who is a lead on the STU divestment campaign, said said STU invests $1 million into the fossil fuel industry annually. The divestment movement is asking institutions to withdraw any investments or holdings  from the fossil fuel industry and then reinvest the money into more sustainable industries that can still be profitable.

Finance committee

St. Thomas University Students’ Union Vice-President Administration Matt Oram said the finance committee will fund $500 towards the University Women’s Centre towards their event Couch and Coffee Combos for Black History Month.

Clubs and societies

St. Thomas University Students’ Union Vice-President Administration Matt Oram said he has received a proposed constitution and application form from the Caribbean Society.

Career fair

St. Thomas University Students’ Union Vice-President Student Life Sarah Kohut has set up a meeting for those who would like to volunteer for the career fair on Feb. 5. Kohut has asked anyone interested in volunteering at the career fair to please see or contact her at [email protected].

Talent show

There will be a talent show in Harington Hall on Feb. 7 from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
