Safe Ride renewed

St. Thomas University Students’ Union president Sarah Kohut said she met with University of New Brunswick Students’ Union and Kyle McNally, STUSU vice-president student life, to renew the contract for Safe Ride for the winter semester.

MLA Mondays

St. Thomas University Students’ Union vice-president education Megan Cormier said MLA Mondays with David Coon will now be the first Monday of every month beginning on Feb. 1 on Zoom.

Remote learning conversations

St. Thomas University Students’ Union vice-president education Megan Cormier said STU’s remote learning conversations with Karen Robert, remote teaching coordinator, will happen every Thursday at 3 p.m. on Zoom where students can talk about their remote learning experiences.

Emergency bursary

St. Thomas University Students’ Union vice-president student life Kyle McNally approved three emergency bursaries and these bursaries are still available to students. The application can be found at stusu.ca under “documents” and “policies and applications.” Students are eligible for up to $500 depending on need and emergency circumstances.

Meditation session

St. Thomas University Students’ Union vice-president student life Kyle McNally said there will be a Zoom meditation session with Grant Hatcher tomorrow, Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Zoom link can be found on the STUSU Facebook page.

Midweek motivation

St. Thomas University Students’ Union vice-president student life Kyle McNally said the midweek motivation on Wednesday afternoons will be postponed until Zone 3, Fredericton region, returns to yellow phase of the COVID-19 Recovery Plan.

Virtual office hours

St. Thomas University Students’ Union executives announced their new office hours for the semester. The office hours are virtual and the help desk in James Dunn Hall will be closed until Fredericton returns to yellow phase. Sarah Kohut, president, will be on Zoom on Tuesdays from 3 to 4 p.m.; Matt Oram, vice-president administration, has his office hour on Tuesdays from 10 to 11 a.m.; Megan Cormier, vice-president education, is from 10 until 11 a.m. on Thursdays; and Kyle McNally, vice-president student life, is Wednesdays from 1 to 2 p.m.

First-year committee

St. Thomas University Students’ Union first-year representative Lauren Hayes said the first-year committee will have their first meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, from 7 to 8 p.m. For more details, email [email protected].
