STUSU opposes live streaming meetings

The St. Thomas University Students’ Union voted against The Aquinian’s proposal to livestream STUSU’s weekly meetings with ten votes opposing, one in favour and four abstaining.

Transfer of funds

St. Thomas University Students’ Union Vice-President Administration Matt Oram motioned to transfer $1300 from the surplus of the Welcome Week line to be used to cover funding applications, which passed with 13 votes and two abstentions.

Sustainability committee

Harrington Hall representative Tyler Dupuis proposed to create an Environmental Sustainability committee to make St. Thomas University Students’ Union and the campus more environmentally friendly and set a standard in student representative council concerning environmental behaviour.

Announcements

The St. Thomas University Students’ Union Annual General Meeting will take place on April 4 at the Student Union Building. STUSU’s Vice-President Student Life Sarah Kohut said all students are welcome.

Kohut said a surprise event for Valentine’s Day will take place on Feb. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in James Dun Hall.

Rigby Hall will have a charity bake sale in JDH on Feb. 11 and 13 from 10 to 11 a.m. Funds will go towards Clinic 554.

A Palentine’s Day event will take place on Feb 14 at 2 p.m. in the off-campus lounge.
