STUISA plans Thanksgiving trip

International students will have a chance to eat seafood and experience whale watching in St. Andrews this Thanksgiving.

Maite Cristina, president of the St. Thomas University international students’ association, has organized the trip for international students – and anyone else interested – who doesn’t have a place to go during the long weekend.

STUISA is sponsoring the trip and the cost is $45. Students are welcome to bring friends, international or Canadian.

In the past, STUISA went to King’s Landing on Thanksgiving, but Cristina found there wasn’t a lot of interest in the trip.

This time, she expects between 25 to 30 students to go to St. Andrews.

The trip will get students away from school for awhile and on the ocean, Cristina said.

“It’s super nice to go on a cruise and whale watch. It’s going to be great for students to get to know towns around here,” she said.

“We live in a [small city]. I think they need to find charming little towns.”

The students leave on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and students must sign up with a $25 deposit by Thursday.
