A large and powerful winter storm will roll through New Brunswick starting this afternoon.  The heaviest snowfall is expected to take place Wednesday evening.

Fredericton and Southern York County continued

Periods of snow at times heavy will develop over Southern New Brunswick early Wednesday afternoon. Amounts of up to 25 centimetres are expected with heaviest snow occurring Wednesday night.

A developing low pressure system over continental U.S. is forecast to intensify and move South of the Great Lakes Wednesday morning. This system will then track eastward reaching Cape Cod by Wednesday evening and south of Newfoundland by Thursday morning. Periods of snow at times heavy will develop over Southern New Brunswick early Wednesday afternoon and will spread further into the province throughout the day. Amounts of up to 25 centimetres are expected with heaviest snow occurring Wednesday night.
