STU teams hold their ground in national ranks

The two nationally ranked Tommies teams maintained a hold on their spots in their respective national AthleteOfWeekDrummond (1)standings last week.

The STU women’s hockey squad was second in the U Sports Top 10 rankings for Jan. 11 to 17 for the fourth straight week, but that may change when the leaderboard is adjusted on Tuesday where the Tommies fell 4-0 to the Saint Mary’s University Huskies on Saturday.

SMU has been third in the U Sports Top 10 for four weeks in a row.

The Tommies women’s basketball team also kept the 14th spot in the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association Top 15 for the second consecutive week.

With a 6-4 record, STU is third in the ACAA women’s hoops conference.
