The Aquinian has received reports that at least one person was seriously injured at the UNB Aitken Centre Thursday evening after a collision in the parking lot.

An ambulance was on the scene and city councilor Jordan Graham suggested on Twitter that someone may have been seriously injured.

Graham got his original information from local blogger Charles LeBlanc.

Eye witnesses say the accident happened around 9:45 p.m. when a car in the parking lot collided head-on with another car. That first car then went backwards and hit a truck.

Following the crashes, eye witnesses say they heard someone screaming for someone who knew CPR so they could assist one of the people involved.

UNB Security confirmed that a 911 call was made. Ambulance, police and fire fighters responded.

Officer Tim MacDougall, who was on the scene at the time, told theAQ that there was a motor vehicle accident and the police are in the process of “an ongoing investigation.”  He would not comment on potential injuries.

Four vehicles were involved in the crash.  Two of the cars were able to drive away from the scene later on and the other two were towed.
