Faculty agreement reached

A tentative agreement made on Dec. 20 has been ratified by the St. Thomas Board of Governors between the university’s full- and part-time faculty and administration.

The agreement expires on June 30, 2016.

STUSU evaluates non-voting members

Vice-president admin Emily Sheen presented by-law and constitutional changes that would have to be made for Board of Governors student representatives and student Senators if they would like a vote in Student Union meetings on Feb. 6.

Changes include removing the positions from the SRC and removing passages from the constitution stating that students in those positions must attend all SRC meetings.

The recommendations were made by the Governance Committee and will be voted on in the regular council meeting on March 13.

STUSU gives to Special Olympics

The Student Union has donated $300 to the New Brunswick Special Olympics.

“With the upcoming Olympics I was inspired to make a charitable assistance request,” said Board of Governors student rep Woody Brown at the Student Union meeting on Feb. 6.

The motion passed unanimously. There is $1,100 left in the charitable assistance line for the rest of the year.
