Until the end of January, FeelsGood productions and The Capital Complex will offer arts and crafts nights in the Wilser’s room in downtown Fredericton.
The evenings include crafts, workshops, music, and board games.
“We did it last year with great success, so it seemed like a good thing to do just when winter’s really starting to pick up and people are trying to find an excuse to get out of the house after a snowy day,” said Paul McAllister, who bartends at the Capital.
Sam Astorino is one of musicians who plays at craft night. He said it’s a great way to get out of the house in the winter.
“I was approached by the great fellas from Feels Good to provide some music at the first of the month, play some acoustic tunes,” said Astorino. “I hadn’t attended before so I didn’t know what to expect but I absolutely love the atmosphere and hospitality.”
McAllister said many take advantage of the night to do crafts in a comfortable setting while they enjoy a brew.
“A lot of the regulars would rather come in and be in that cozy atmosphere and work on their crafts on a cold Wednesday night as opposed to being at home,” he said.
Special hot drinks like mulled wine, mulled cider and hot buttered rum -are all served exclusively on Wednesday nights.
Astorino describes the night as a free-for-all. “You can draw, paint, sing, dance, knit, do puzzles or just come to have some drinks with buds.”
Arts and crafts night is every Wednesday and doors open at 8 p.M.
